The International Tinnitus Journal was founded by Professor Abraham Shulman and Barbara Goldstein from New York and Professor Claus- Frenz Claussen from Bad Kissingen, Germany. It intended to publish papers on tinnitus from all over the world and also, being the official Journal of the Neuro-otological and Equilibriometric Society, to publish papers on Neuro-otology.
During these years from 1995 to 2010 the ITJ has gained world-wide fame and has fulfilled it’s mission of publishing peer reviewed papers on tinnitus and balance problems. It is indexed on Medline, Embase, Excerpta Medica, Pubmed, Index Medicus, etc.
Drs. Shulman and Claussen have honoured me with the mission to continue the ITJ tradition as Chairman of the publication and I have accepted this challenge gladly. From now on The International Tinnitus Journal will be published from Brasília, D.F. Brasil under my Chairmanship.
The mission of the Journal will not change. We will strive to make the publication better as always and will be open to any suggestion coming from collaborators.
We will continue peer reviewing all the submissions and make sure the standards will be maintained under our chairmanship.
Dr. Fayez Bahmad, our Chief Editor is working very hard in all the aspects for the printed and online publications. In this way all previous articles published in the ITJ will be available online for readers.
We look forward to work with you in the production of future publications. We are open to improve and follow rigorously controlled publication process for maintaining quality of the Journal. The journal mainly focuses on Tinnitus and balance problems related articles but researches related to Otology are accepted as well.
We believe that ITJ is different from other publications. It has been more open and willing to accept new ideas and we intend to continue in this direction. By being so we think we will find a niche for the ITJ in our modern Otolaryngological literature. We are of course very proud to have an International Journal published from Brasília.
